FBA Calculator

Work out Amazon's fees, your profit per unit and your profit after ads. Uses Amazon's 2026 US rates, including holiday peak fees and the 3.5% fuel surcharge. Fee schedule as of October 4, 2026.

Product
Package size and weight

Use the packaged size and weight. The ship date decides holiday peak or standard rates.

Your costs per unit

Adds Amazon's monthly storage fee at its 2026 rates; months in October to December cost about three times as much. Leave empty to leave storage out. Other costs: prep, packaging, returns, anything else you pay per unit.

Advertising

TACoS is ad spend divided by all sales, from ads and organic. Enter 0 if you do not advertise.

Your month and goals (optional)

Fill in any of these to see your month, whether your ads pay, the price for your target margin, and FBA against shipping orders yourself.

          How the FBA calculator works

For each unit it adds up what Amazon charges, then takes away your own costs and your ad spend.

          1. Referral fee. A percentage of the total sales price (item price plus any delivery and gift-wrap charges, excluding tax), set by category, with a per-item minimum of $0.30 in most categories. Some categories charge one rate on the whole price depending on where the price falls; others charge different rates on each part of the price.
          2. Size tier. From the packaged dimensions and weight: small standard, large standard, small bulky, large bulky or extra-large.
          3. Shipping weight. Small standard items use their unit weight. Larger tiers use the greater of unit weight and dimensional weight (length x width x height / 139).
          4. FBA fulfillment fee. From Amazon's rate table for the tier, the shipping weight and the price band (under $10, $10 to $50, over $50; a price of exactly $10 or $50 takes the middle band). Apparel and dangerous goods have their own tables.
          5. Fuel and logistics surcharge. 3.5% of the fulfillment fee from April 17, 2026, peak fees included.
          6. Profit. Price minus Amazon's fees, minus your product, inbound and other costs gives profit before ads. Minus your ad cost per unit gives profit after ads.

          Formulas

Profit before ads = price − Amazon fees − product cost − shipping to Amazon − other costs

Break-even ACoS = profit before ads ÷ price

Profit after ads = profit before ads − price × TACoS

Break-even ACoS is the most you can spend on ads to make one ad-driven sale without losing money on it. If your campaigns' ACoS is above it, each ad sale loses money. Work it out for each campaign with our ACoS calculator.

          Worked example

A kitchen product sells for $25.00. Its packaged size is 12.6 x 6.6 x 5.5 in and it weighs 3.35 lb, so it is large standard. Dimensional weight is 12.6 x 6.6 x 5.5 / 139 = 3.29 lb, so the shipping weight is the unit weight, 3.35 lb. Shipped on October 20, 2026, it pays holiday peak rates:

With $6.00 product cost, $1.00 shipping to Amazon and 12% TACoS ($3.00 a unit), profit is $6.31 before ads and $3.31 after ads, a 13.2% margin. Break-even ACoS is 25.2%.

Charged per cubic foot of packaged volume per month (length x width x height in inches ÷ 1,728). Standard-size stock held in October to December pays about three times its January to September rate, oversize about two and a half times. Established sellers who hold more than 22 weeks of stock may also pay a storage utilization surcharge, not shown here.

          Frequently asked questions

How much does Amazon FBA charge per item?

Two fees apply to every FBA sale: a referral fee, usually 8% to 15% of the total sales price with a $0.30 minimum in most categories, and a fulfillment fee set by size tier, shipping weight and price. In 2026 a fuel and logistics surcharge of 3.5% is added to the fulfillment fee. A 1 lb large standard item priced between $10 and $50 pays $4.60 in fulfillment fees at standard rates before the surcharge.

When do Amazon's 2026 holiday peak fees apply?

From October 15, 2026 to January 14, 2027, decided by the date the order ships, not the date it was placed. The calculator picks the season from the ship date you enter.

What is the FBA fuel and logistics surcharge?

Since April 17, 2026 Amazon adds 3.5% of the FBA fulfillment fee in the US and Canada, including on peak fees. Amazon has not given an end date. The calculator shows it as its own line.

How is dimensional weight calculated for FBA?

Length x width x height in inches, divided by 139. For bulky and extra-large items Amazon uses a minimum of 2 inches for width and height. Large standard and bigger items are charged on the greater of unit weight and dimensional weight; small standard items use unit weight only.

What is a good profit margin on Amazon FBA?

It depends on how much you spend on ads. The useful number is the margin after advertising: profit after Amazon fees, product cost and ad cost, divided by the selling price. Your break-even ACoS tells you the most you can spend on ads for one sale before it loses money.

Does this calculator include storage fees?

Yes, if you enter how many months a unit sits in Amazon's warehouse before it sells. It applies Amazon's 2026 monthly rate per cubic foot month by month, so October to December cost more. It leaves out the storage utilization surcharge and the low-inventory-level, inbound placement, aged inventory and returns processing fees, which depend on your whole inventory; add your per-unit estimate under Other costs.
