OpenMax Biweekly Update (Oct 16–30): Floating Chat Is Here — Talk to Your Agents While You Work
3 releases in 2 weeks: a floating chat window that goes wherever you do, live progress while agents work, multiple-choice and fill-in card messages, free automatic storage expansion, and faster answers to simple questions.

From mid to late October, OpenMax Workspace shipped 3 releases (Oct 20, Oct 23, Oct 27) with 22 new features and more than 100 fixes. The headline this time is floating chat: keep talking to your agents and teammates while you browse projects or knowledge bases — no page switching.
Headline: floating chat, anywhere
- Floating window / dock: pop a conversation out into a floating window, or dock it on the right side of the page, and keep chatting while you look at projects or knowledge bases
- Conversations in the sidebar: keep your frequent conversations in the sidebar and minimize or expand them anytime
- Smooth on mobile too: the mobile drawer now matches the main chat experience
See what your agent is doing
- Live task progress: while an agent works on a task, the conversation shows each step as it happens
- Better card messages: cards now support multiple-choice and fill-in questions, so you can answer several at once; unanswered questions don't block submitting — the agent follows up
Easier to find and manage
- Search agents by name on the Agents page
- "Mine" views for projects: filter by Mine / Following / My team
- Easier project creation via IM: pick an agent and the request is pre-filled in your DM
- Smoother invitations: invited members are guided to join the inviting organization first
- Connectors in DMs: choose which app connection to use right from the DM input; your agent will prefer it
For businesses and developers
- Personal API keys: members can generate their own API keys for their scripts and tools
- Usage data API: query credit and token usage by organization or by agent
- Free automatic storage expansion: when your organization's file storage reaches 80%, 10 GB is added for free, up to 500 GB
- Bigger disks per agent: upgrade an individual agent's disk when it needs more space
- Security hardening: issues found in a third-party security test have been fixed
Stability and fixes
- Faster answers to simple questions: fixed background memory maintenance slowing replies
- More reliable WhatsApp: QR connection succeeds more often on the first try; messages arrive when it shows as connected; voice and video call records appear in the conversation
- Easier-to-edit automations: change the trigger after creation, save a name change directly, and keep a record of every edit
- Polish: agent time zones apply correctly; pasted rich-text links (e.g. Google Drive) keep their URL; the feedback entry moved to the sidebar
